Racer update

Well, a month from Saturday is race day! We have less than 1,000 spots remaining. Please remind your teammates, friends and family to sign up, because once it's full it's closed.

1. New finish into Hastings for 2014; To improve rider safety and eliminate interaction with the Green St. vehicles on the return into Hastings, we have created a new finishing route into the city. View the full course map  and a zoomed in map of the new finish under the map tab

2. Specialized /Strava segment challenge: We will have two Strava king of the mountain segments on the race course, Sponsored by Specialized.  If you run Strava on race day you have a chance to win. The top 3 men and women for the 24, 36 and 62 mile races will receive Specialized prizes at the awards ceremony.

3. Looking for Lodging??:  The Hastings Holiday Inn Express is full for the 21st and the 22nd but The West Michigan Sports Commission has created a list of partnering hotels offering a discount to Barry-Roubaix racers. The offer ends soon! See the list and phone numbers of participating hotels under the lodging tab.

4. Youth Racing: We continue to encourage our cycling youths ages 11-18 to be involved in the sport and enjoy the thrills of racing.  Once again for 2014, The Michigan Youth Cycling organization and the Barry-Roubaix will be offering the winning 11-18 boys and girls a scholarship award.  As a reminder race registration for the 11-18 youths is $25.
