2022 Registration Streamline Changes

Next topic in our "New for 2022" series: BikeReg registration setup! Coming off a convoluted registration process in 2021 (due to 2020 and uncertainty of holding the event) we wanted to really streamline things to make it as simple and clean as possible. Here are a few key changes we've made to sign up...

No more "Open" and "Age group" decision making! Now you will simply sign up for the distance of your choice and we will use your birthdate to place you into the proper age group. Since we are removing the "Open" category from 62 mile we will be replacing it with a few age groups. On race day we will simply pull the top riders for the overall out of age groups/categories. Now you don't need to decide if you want to go for Age Group glory or contend for the overall! Singlespeed and fatbike riders will also now be eligible for overall podiums (tandems and "racing for fun" however are not eligible for overall).

The registration page will no longer have a mile-long list of options to choose from. It will be clean cut with gender/age group categories, singlespeed, fatbike, etc... As mentioned above, we will automatically place riders into the proper age groups. We will be reviewing the possible addition of age groups AFTER registration has reached high capacity to help balance awards categories.

We've added Non-binary categories to each distance from 18 to 100 miles! Barry-Roubaix was created as a cycling event for EVERYONE to enjoy and to that end we want all people to feel welcome. We want to continue to be a welcoming place for riders whether it's their first bike ride or their 100th.

Youth registration remains at $25 to help support the growth of the next generation in this awesome sport! We have youth categories in both 18 and 36 mile races, but keep in mind that only the 18 mile is eligible for the Youth Team Competition. There is also NO CAP on the youth registrations to also encourage growth and attendance.

Here's a preview of what the registration pages looks like. It will be hosted on BikeReg and don't worry, we'll remind you once or twice in advance
