Q: What if the race sells out?
A:
Once the race cap is reached the race will be considered sold out. Stay tuned to our social channels for sponsor giveaways, special events and promotions to gain entry!

Q: Is there a wait list?
A:
Yes! Once the race is “sold out”, the wait list for all categories will open on our Bikereg registration page. You will be “in line” for the next registration transfer based on the date and time you registered for the wait list. The 18, 36 and 62 mile categories roll up into one wait list and the 100 mile rolls up into its own wait list. PLEASE NOTE THE WAIT LIST IS AUTOMATIC. YOU WILL BE CHARGED AND ENTERED INTO THE RACE IF YOU ARE NEXT ON THE LIST TO RECEIVE A TRANSFER. IF YOU END UP NOT WANTING AN ENTRY, REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE LIST.

Q: I can’t make it, How do I sell my race entry?
A:
No worry, you have the option to sell your entry to another cyclist. Transfers close April 5 at 5 pm EST.
Option 1. You can sell your entry to the next person on the wait list. Go to your race registration or confirmation email and select “withdraw entry”. IF there is someone on the wait list, they will receive your entry and you’ll receive a refund to your original payment option.
Option 2. You can sell / manually transfer your entry to someone. The original registered racer finds a person to sell their registration to and works out the selling price, payment arrangement and needs the buyers email address. The original registered racer then goes into their bikereg race confirmation or account and selects “transfer registration”. Enter the email of the person buying your registration. The person transferring in gets the email, accepts the transfer, goes to bikereg and selects the category they will be racing in.   A registration in any distance or category can transfer to someone looking to race a different distance or category.

Q: How can I confirm my race entry?
A:

No refunds will be provided, however the race organizers may offer registrants a partial refund or credit to a future race based on the situation, timing and a review of race costs.

Q: How are waves determined / created?
A:
During the registration process, you’ll select the distance and your start wave based on your expected finishing time.

Q: What if I start in the wrong wave?
A:
If you start in a wave before your designated wave you will receive a DQ in results. If you start in a later wave than your designated wave, you will receive a results time which includes the start time of your original start wave.

Q: How does the RACING FOR FUN category work?
A:
We offer a racing for fun category for the 18 & 36 mile races. Your race is still timed but it’s the last wave of each distance to provide less rider traffic running up behind you. These categories are not eligible for race awards.

Q: How do I get race results?
A:
Timing by Epic Race Timing is live and upon finishing the race you can use your smart phone to access results: www.barry-roubaix.com/info/results/

Q: What should I do if I decide to quit?
A:
We recommend you ride to the nearest aid station and ask for a SAG vehicle to bring you back to the start area.
Please inform the our timing team at the finish line that you dropped out!

Q: I signed up for the 100/62/36 mile race but decided mid race I won’t make it that far. Can I ride the 62/36/18 mile course and still be timed?
A:
No. You can ride back to the finish if you’d like, but you must inform the timing people that you DNF’d (Did Not Finish) the proper course. DO NOT RIDE THROUGH THE FINISH CHUTE IF YOU SHORTEN YOUR RACE!  You won’t receive a timing result.

Q: Why did I receive a DQ in my results?
A:
If you start in a wave before your designated wave, if you do not get a start, finish or confirmation mat reading or you rode a different distance than you registered for may be the reason for no results time. DO NOT CUT, BEND OR WRAP YOUR RACE PLATE AS THIS MAY RESULT IN NO TIME BEING REGISTERED. ANY MODIFICATIONS OR WRAPPING OF NUMBER PLATES THAT RESULTS IN TIMING ISSUES WILL NOT BE CORRECTED!

Q: What’s available after the race?

  • Finish line recovery tent with food and hydration

  • Race awards

  • Blackrocks Brewery Street Party with street bonfires, music and vendors from 11am-6pm Saturday. The Rotary Club of Hastings will be serving kegs of Blackrocks Brewery beer!

Q: What if we have a storm?
A:
The race runs snow, rain or shine but in the event that we have a major record snowfall, tornado warnings or severe thunderstorms the race could be shortened, postponed or canceled with no refunds. The 62 & 36 mile Shaw and Sager Road two-track sections will ONLY be re-routed if impassable due to deep snow or severe icy conditions (this is very rare, don’t count on it haha!).

Q: What tires should I use?
A:
Depends on road conditions, but 700×34 -38 gravel tires with a low tread like Panaracer GravelKings and 29” fast-rolling work good on mountain bikes

Q: I ordered some merchandise at registration. Do you mail it to me?
A:
No. The merchandise will be distributed to you at packet pick-up. After you get your race number plate take it to the merchandise table to receive your items. If you ordered merchandise and are unable to attend it is up to you to contact us to make other arrangements.
